It was October by the time we reached Camogli, located on the west side of the peninsula of Portofino, Liguria, northern Italy. The days were still warm but it was not exactly swimming weather. Mischa didn’t take much convincing: it was her only opportunity to swim in the Mediterranean sea. It was the icing on the cake for Mischa.

Whereas the cherry on top for me was choosing a restaurant. It always is.

Included for the Daily Post’s weekly photographic prompt, cherry on top.
Oooo, only home one day and you are causing me to think about the next trip 🙂 Did I see somewhere that you have been unwell? I hope you are feeling better. Despite the first line, I’m deliriously happy to be home again for a while.

Welcome home Ardys. yes, I have been unwell, a continuation of the same bug, taking on variations and mutations along the way. Only one thing to do- head to the tropics. Tomorrow Vietnam- heat, good food, massage and swim.

You have wetted my appetite to visit Italy again. I have only been there once and it was in winter, so Camogli is on my list for summer or autumn – beautiful place.

Ahah, yes Karin, I know what you mean, though reading all those menus first gets the juices going.

I haven’t been to Camogli since 1983 when I discovered it by accident. I had a lovely day trip there, observing the setup for the annual fishfry – a huge event where a frying pan big enough to feed the whole city is erected on the beach. Gorgeous town.

Italy is so beautiful, the best part is walking around the towns and finding some delicious little restaurant, just like you said.

I haven’t been home 3 months and this post makes me want to go back even more than I already did. And I so agree with your interpretation of “cherry on top.”
