This strange little be-spectacled statue stands at the altar of Wat Tha Khaek, in Chiang Khan, Thailand. Note the fair skin, blue eyes and doll-like features.
This forms part of the photographic challenge offered by The Daily Post this week, From Every Angle. I enjoyed going for a walk to capture this bizarre little trio.
What a funny looking face to see in Thailand! Love the glasses!

That is interesting. Is there a story behind it? I wonder.

I have seen quite a few Buddha images with spectacles on, especially in Burma, but never one so pale and with blue eyes.

Yes, have no idea what his story is. He looked so out of place in that temple, sort of spooky blue eyed monk comes to the Lao border!

They’re very unusual and yes, they do have big blue eyes! I do wonder who it is they were styled on xx

Looks a bit Superman crossed with the Delai Lama crossed again with a cupie doll! Throw in a bit of Matt Lucas (Little Britain) and you’ve got it nailed. Still cute though 🙂
