I am envious of surfers. The ultimate freedom is to spend a day on the sea, waiting for the perfect wave, to ride that wave to the shore, then to spend the rest of the day with a perfect companion, a dog. Bliss.

See Where’s My Backpack for more pictorial thoughts on freedom.
Great pics and narrative Francesca….ah the freedom of escape!

I agree Francesca…surfing would be a great skill to have, even better with a lovely dog companion x

I don’t like the beach but your photos had me wavering…a bit!

Lovely images. I can’t even imagine surfing as I’m a poor swimmer and don’t even like the water, but I do love a beautiful, evocative photo! xx

I learnt to surf once, and if I was a little younger, I would take it up.

Agreed. I’m aways envious of how meditative and relaxing surfing seems to have on its disciples.
